Global Neighbours

As part of our vision, we are committed to inspiring our pupils to become 21stcentury global citizens. From raising awareness about Fairtrade and running a Fairtrade cafe to donating food for local people, staff and pupils are encouraged to take their place as global citizens.

In 2019, we achieved the Bronze Award status in Christian Aid’s Global Neighbours scheme in recognition of our wide-ranging steps to love our global neighbour.

The accreditation scheme celebrates schools that are helping pupils learn about global poverty and the Christian responsibility to tackle it, as well as giving them the tools to play a confident part in creating a fairer world.

The accreditation is divided into four domains:

  • School leadership,
  • Collective worship and spiritual development,
  • Pupil participation in active global citizenship,
  • Community engagement.

In aiming for the silver accreditation, we have set ourselves key actions linked to the four domains.
