As part of our vision of educating the whole child, we believe that all pupils should have the opportunity to connect to the natural world and engage in outdoor activities.
Research states the impact of outdoor learning in developing pupils:
- personal and social development,
- care for the environment,
- well-being and mental health.
In achieving these aims, every class participates in an afternoon of outdoor learning once a half term.
Each week, there is a clear focus on providing pupils with a range of experiences whilst building on the skills they learnt in the previous sessions.

In addition to half termly sessions, pupils also have the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities linked to their BIG question.
Across the year, EYFS also hold Outdoor Learning Days linked to specific areas of the foundation stage.
